Educational Opportunities

The International Society for British Genealogy and Family History offers two ways to learn, face-to-face on location at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and via the Web in cooperation with the most experienced online teaching company in the United Kingdom.

The British Institute has taken place in Salt Lake City each October since 2001, using the Family History Library as an essential onsite resource. Past British Institutes have brought people in from all over the world. We have had attendees from Canada, from New Zealand, and from Florida to Washington state. Our students give very high ratings to the quality of the instructors and course content and each year we see more and more people returning. Students realize that continuing education is the key to successful on-going research. Our programs benefit from the evaluations and recommendations submitted by our students. Class size is small so that each student gets an opportunity to work on their own research with the guidance of the instructor.
